WEEK 5

WEEKLY LECTURE

Pitching

This week's class is about "pitching", as in idea pitching. I've always heard this word when comes to presentation for companies, where usually people having ideas pitching to develop or to invest in a product. As "coming up with good ideas is hard, but convincing others to do something with them is even harder", pitching is bringing an idea to someone with the power that can pursue someone. (Scott Berkun, 2005)

Things we need to pay attention in pitching ideas:

- Ask ourselves the 5ws (what, when, where, why, who) and how

- the objectives & goals of the project

- the purpose of the project

- who is our target audience

- our unique selling point (the features)

- how will the projects works

- when and where we are going to launch the project

(Scott Berkun, 2005)

Our Idea pitching presentation slide must:

- simple & clear

- have analogies to back up our points

- have a clear idea of what our project about before going into details of project

- the problems & the solution

- comparison between our product with other competitors is a bonus mark

PROJECT PROGRESS

User Persona , User Story comments & correction

After last week done with the user persona and user story,  I've got some comments during this week's discussions.  The main comments are the personas that I did are almost the same goals. Yet, the goals of each user personas are too much. I was suggested to have 1 persona 1 goal. Therefore, I need to redo it and change it becomes more specific in each goal and each problem to solve. Besides, the previous 3 user persona and user story I did is all about the disabled user. However, I missed out on the secondary target audience, which is the employers. Therefore, I decided to rethink the user personas do amendments. Below are the user personas and the user stories after I've do corrections.

Core Feature Diagram

After finish with the user persona and user story and waiting for comments from the lecturer next week, I decided to do the core feature diagram of my project first. The core feature diagram is basically the features that we will be included in our products. Since my project is more complicated which involves more features, I decided to use a diagram to show the features.
